Amber does everything Blue does, plus it connects to your bank and credit cards, automates your bookkeeping, and gives your accountant a proper dashboard. If you just want to know what each job costs you, Blue is the product. If you want to replace QuickBooks or eliminate catch-up bookkeeping, Amber is the product.
No. Hammertrack handles the accounting structure in the background. You enter expenses and hours — it figures out where they go. The more complex accounting functions in Amber are designed so your accountant works in that layer, not you.
Yes. Your data carries over. You don't start over when you upgrade — Amber builds on top of what you already have in Blue.
No catch. You sign up with your name, company name, and email — no credit card required. You get a full month to use whichever product you're trying. After the month, you pay the monthly rate or you stop. Nothing is charged automatically without you entering a payment method.
In four locations: Google Firestore (primary), multiple Google backup servers, and Backblaze B2 — stored under your company's own account name, not ours. You can also download a local .zip of your data weekly if you want a copy on your own machine. Your records aren't held hostage.
Through a standard bank feed integration. You connect your business bank accounts and credit cards, and transactions come in automatically. This is the same mechanism used by most bookkeeping tools — it reads transactions; it does not have the ability to move money.
For Amber, your accountant gets their own dashboard with your books, reports, and messaging. They don't need to already know the software — the dashboard is designed for accountants. For Blue, there's no accountant component; it's just your job tracking.
Yes. Additional users are $5/month each. They can log hours and expenses on your jobs. Everything comes into your account tagged correctly.
